ABSTRACT

Due to the Overwhelming power supply challenges in Nigeria,
alternative solutions have been introduced and tested to overcome this
challenge in a view to reducing the cost of providing power to the News
Agency of Nigeria (NAN) without much success.

Chapter one of the report takes a look at the main function of the
technical/ICT department of the News Agency of Nigeria. Chapter two
down to Chapter five which is the major aspect of this work is on installation and maintenance of Photovoltaic System which the Agency has adapted.

It dealt with the types of Photovoltaic System, it application, installation of Photovoltaic System, maintenance activities and safety precautions to be taken into consideration during the installation and maintenance of
Photovoltaic System.

Chapter six of this work gives a little insight into my National Youth Service Corps experience in Nigeria Telecommunication LTD (NITEL) Territorial Head Quarters Kaduna.
